When St. Nicholas presents the children and Lucia, the queen of light, celebrates her birthday, it is all over the world. Advent has begun, and in the streets are offered Christmas trees and Advent wreaths for sale. St. Nicholas presents the children, and Lucia with her crown of light symbolizes the return of light after a long darkness. In addition to these traditions, the Advent wreath, scented with resin, adorned with four colored candles and ribbons, is the first greeting of the approaching feast. Even the Christmas star shines in the Advent days as the real star to Bethlehem. The plant comes from Central and South America and is to be regarded as a symbol of the birth of Christ, because it has wonderful luminosity and beauty. The first tree decorated with lights was to be seen in Strasbourg in the 17th century. The Christmas tree decorations had symbolic power: the candles were compared with rays of light emanating from the sun, from Christ, and warmed everything. The apples recalled the Fall of Paradise and the forgiveness of the Redeemer. As homage and remembrance of the birth of the Christ child in the stable in Bethlehem, the angel of the Annunciation on Christmas Eve revealed: "Peace on earth to all people who are of good will." The brand image shows the Madonna of Egger-Lienz.
