Special cancellation from 3 October to 2 December 1978 Central youth object "Drushba-Trasse" 1975 to 1978 At the 12th meeting of the FDJ Central Council in October 1974, the decision was taken to follow the proposal of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. the GDR construction section of the according to the XXVIII. Meeting of the CMEA to be developed by some socialist states together to develop natural gas deposit Orenburg and for the construction of the 2,750 km long natural gas highway Orenburg-Western border USSR as a central youth object. The decision triggered a great response and diverse initiatives in the GDR. 3,003 FDJ delegates from various professions prepared for seminars lasting several years. In each district town of the GDR and in the capital of the GDR, Berlin, counseling centers were set up. Thorough professional and political preparation for work in the country of Lenin was the key to successful work. Within a very short time, the necessary housing and supply bases were built on the GDR construction phase. From Cherkassy at the Dnieper Reservoir, the headquarters of the GDR construction section, work was organized at the Central Youth Center. In the towns of Kremenchug, Alexandrovka, Talnoye, Gaisin and Bar, residential towns were built for the young builders of the Drushba line. As early as August 1975, the first pipes with a diameter of 1.42 m could be unloaded for the natural gas pipeline. Less than two years elapsed from the first weld near Kremenchug to the last weld near Uman, which were pulled by young East German welders. In the completion of the GDR construction phase on time and with quality, the young builders demonstrated fighting spirit, steadfastness and perseverance. The party and the FDJ organization, as well as the leaders and experienced senior colleagues, assisted the young working people with help and advice. A very cordial relationship developed with the Soviet people. Regular events of the FDJ and the Komsomol contributed to a close collaboration in work and leisure. In the spirit of socialist patriotism and proletarian internationalism, the builders of the Drushba route from the GDR worked on the vast international construction site of friendship. They laid over 270 km of large pipes in such a quality that none of the approx. 30,000 tested welds had to be complained of. They handed over nearly 1,000 residential units with retail halls, kindergartens, heating houses, streets and squares, five complete compressor stations each with 7 x 10 MW gas turbine complexes and a central dispatching and control building. Through their actions, the members of the FDJ and their older colleagues made a significant contribution to strengthening the community of socialist states. The construction of the route will, in the long run, secure a significant part of the needs of the GDR and the other CMEA countries involved in natural gas. On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the founding of the GDR, the Central Youth Property "Drushba-Trasse" is successfully completed.
