Block 1 consists of four stamps, which have motifs as Freiburg landmarks. The first stamp shows the granary, which was built in 1498. It contains the former flour scales of the city and has a ballroom on the upper floor. A special feature is the imposing stepped gable of the building, which was destroyed in 1944 by a bombing raid. In the years 1969 to 1970 it was rebuilt. The next motif shows the tower of the Freiburg Minster (see catalog number 13). The highest gallery of the tower, completed in 1280 in 50-year construction period, is 116 meters high. The octagon of the base is decorated on the outside with trumpet angels (see catalog number 40). The motif of the third stamp shows one of the trumpet angels of the Freiburg Minster. These are attached to each of the eight corners of the tower. They stand on pillars on the spire and point out the legends, according to which angels with trumpets usher in the Last Judgment. The fish well, which is depicted on the last motif, was originally part of the drinking water supply in Freiburg, which only took place via public wells. The original of the late Gothic fountain was built in 1483 by Hans von Basel and stood on the fish market. The restoration of 1970 also shows eight statues, which were built before 1616 by Bertram von Berg probably as a replacement for older and is now on the Cathedral Square. Among the statues are also knights with coats of arms of the Habsburgs and the city.
