From July 17 to August 1, 1976, the Games of the XXI are held in Montreal. Olympiad held. For this reason, the German Federal Post Office special postage stamps with surcharges in favor of the German Sporthilfe out. Hockey is played as a fighting game in the forms field hockey and indoor hockey, with two teams of 11 players (and two substitutes) driving the ball with the bat into the opponent's goal. The field (grass or ash) in field hockey is 91.40 m long and 50 to 55 m wide, the gate 3.66 m wide and 2.14 m high. The playing time is twice 35 minutes.
