Hardly any other German mountain range is so prominently represented in poetry, literature, film, theater and television as the Black Forest. The mountain range has a length of 200 and a maximum width of 60 kilometers and runs in the state of Baden-Württemberg in a north-south direction parallel to the Upper Rhine plains.
