With the well-known actress Senta Berger, the popular series "Austrians in Hollywood" now finds its - in the truest sense of the word - attractive continuation. Senta Berger, born on May 13, 1941 in Vienna, is undoubtedly one of the largest domestic actors with an international format. Her glorious film career began in Austria and led her across Germany to the so-called "dream factory" in Hollywood. Since then she has appeared in countless European cinema films, at the theater and since the 1980s increasingly in many leading roles in German TV series and films. Senta Berger was discovered at the tender age of only 16 years of a great of his time, namely the unforgotten Willi Forst, who engaged her for her first, still small role in the film. However, she had to leave the Max Reinhardt Seminar, where she later studied, after assuming a role in the film The Journey with Yul Brynner, without asking the director for permission; In 1958 Senta Berger became the youngest member of the Wiener Theater in der Josefstadt. A landmark in the young career of Senta Berger was certainly the film "The brave soldier Schweijk" on the side of Heinz Rühmann. Then, in 1962, she moved to Hollywood and worked with such world stars as Dean Martin, Kirk Douglas, John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, and Charlton Heston. In 1969, she finally returned to Europe and was seen in the 1970s, especially in Italian productions of different genres. Between 1974 and 1982, Senta Berger was the passionate actress of Hugo von Hofmannsthal's "Jedermann" at the Salzburg Festival, making her the longest-serving actress to date. She played at the Vienna Burgtheater (with Klaus Maria Brandauer), as well as at the Hamburg Thalia Theater and the Schiller Theater in Berlin. In 1985 she made the TV comeback in front of the German-speaking audience in the successful television series "Kir Royal". In addition, Senta Berger also appeared as a chanson singer and reading evenings; In 2002 she lent her voice to Catherine Deneuve for the French film "8 Women". The popular artist, who has been living in Grünwald near Munich for many years and also in Berlin for some time, has been awarded numerous prestigious awards and honors - including the Bambi, the Karl Valentin Orden, the silver film band, the German Television Prize, the Golden Camera, the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, the Berliner Bär and the platinum Romy for their life's work. In addition, since 2011 her star also emblazoned on the Boulevard of Stars in Berlin.
