The imperial palace complex of Schönbrunn with its numerous outbuildings and the extensive park is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria. More than 6.7 million guests visit this baroque jewel every year in the cosmopolitan city of Vienna. In December 1996, Schönbrunn was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Gloriette (an early Classicist Kollonadenbau with a triumphal arch middle part and airy arc-shaped arcade wings), the imposing Palm House and of course the oldest zoo in the world, the Tiergarten Schönbrunn, are noteworthy places of interest. An elegant, completely renovated summer bath, just a few years ago. and the well-known cultural and Christmas market in front of the castle are popular seasonal venues for both tourists and the city's inhabitants.
