Landskron Castle in Carinthia is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sights in Austria. The great location, the impressive architecture and the special flair characterize this historic hideaway to a high degree. First mentioned in a document in 1351, a certain Bartlmä Khevenhüller used to live here - after the Habsburgs and the Stubenbergers - to Aichberg, who built a pleasure palace out of the castle and provided for the appropriate defensive function. In 1812, during the reign of Count Dietrichstein, the palace was completely burned down. Only in 1953 Landskron was renovated again and subsequently opened a restaurant. Particularly rewarding is the magnificent view of the Karawanken and the Julian Alps, the Ossiacher See and the Kanzelhöhe. A natural experience is offered by the so-called "Adlerwarte", where a daily bird of prey show attracts a great deal of public interest.
