The Celts were from the 5th century BC. Over several centuries one of the most important peoples of Europe. In the southwest of Germany, Celtic princes built strong fortified castles. A cultural monument of European standing is located on the Glauberg northeast of Frankfurt am Main. Excavations revealed magnificent tombs from the 5th century BC. In the Archaeological Park, which is also accessible to visitors, a part of the tomb is reconstructed. Of unique significance is the discovery of a life-size sandstone figure of a Celtic prince. The figure shown on the stamp carries a hood-like headgear in the form of a mistletoe leaf. Perhaps this should represent the grandeur of the prince as the highest priest. The artwork shows the Celtic men characteristic necklaces and bracelets on the left upper arm. The person depicted is clothed with a breastplate, which at the time was made of leather parts. Facilities include a sword and a shield.
