Near the village of Schwarzenbach in the Hunsrück in 1849, the grave of a Celtic prince with several precious vessels of the 5./4. Century BC The finds are now on display in the Antiques Department of the Staatliche Museen Berlin Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. Of the shell, only the fine gold coating is preserved, the actual vessel was probably made of thin bronze sheet or other slightly transient material. Today's reconstruction, however, clearly reproduces the shell in its original form. The slightly recessed edge is made of smooth, undetached gold sheet. Including a narrow, decorated by pearl rows and bud frieze gold strip. Divided into two zones, the wall ornament is made up of highly stylized leaves and flowers, cut from fine gold sheet and lined with rows of pearls.
