The motif of this brand is the portrait of the architect August Siccard of Siccardsburg, the first president of the artists' cooperative. Born in Budapest on December 6, 1813, Vienna soon became his second home. His friendship with the highly gifted architect Eduard van der Nüll, who also studied at the Academy, had a particularly positive effect on his life. In 1843 he received a professorship at the Academy, he built together with van der Nüll the Sophienbad, the Carltheater and the surrounding building of the Arsenal. In 1860, the two architects emerged victorious in the competition for the construction of the Hofoperntheater. This building now took up almost all of its energy for eight years. Even before the opening on May 25, 1869 but massive criticism of the structural statements in the public was loud that drove van der Nüll on April 3, 1867 in the suicide. Siccardsburg died a little later on June 11, 1868 in Weidling. In the course of the war, many buildings erected by this extraordinary man and architect were badly damaged or destroyed.
