500 years Schiffer-Compagnie Stralsund On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Schiffer-Compagnie Stralsund, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes four multicolored special postage stamps with pictures of sailing ships, so-called captain's pictures. Special cancellation from 20 September to 19 November 1988 500 years Schiffer-Compagnie Stralsund - Captain's pictures 10 Pfennig value: Bark "gazebo", the Bark was built in 1872 and registered by the Schiffer-Compagnie. The order to make the captain's picture was obviously issued by Captain J. F. Krüger. It shows the Stralsund-based Bark at Cape Lizard. It carries the following flags: the mooring flag in the foremast, the name pennants in the main mast and the registration flag of the skipper company in the mizzen mast, as well as the distinguishing sign JNMD displayed in flags. The painting painted on canvas with oil is attributed to the painter A. Laschky. The ship and captains' names on the stamps correspond to the original names of the Captain's pictures.
