Municipal day as the voice of municipalities in an enlarged EuropeThe Austrian Municipal Council is the largest municipal event in Austria, municipal officials gather annually to strengthen the political demands of their Austria - wide interest representation, the Austrian Federation of Municipalities The congregational day on 18 and 19 September 2003, in which community representatives of the neighboring accession states are also invited, should serve as a common mouthpiece for the European concerns of the communities. Under the motto "Peace, freedom, proximity to the citizenry - for a Europe of the communities", the major event will take place on the eve of the enlargement in Wiener Neustadt - a traditional intersection between East and West. A symbol of Wiener Neustadt was chosen for the brand image: the water tower , which was built in 1909/10 according to the plans of the Viennese architects Theiß and Jaksch, is certainly one of the most important buildings of the conference venue next to the cathedral and the tower tower. Perhaps inspired by the famous "Corvinusbecher" - a jewel of Wiener Neustadt - the architects gave the water tower the shape of a stylized lidded cup.
