The Landestheater Salzburg celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1975. This anniversary referred to the continuous existence of a solid stage. Salzburg's theater tradition, however, can be traced back to the medieval church space game within the Easter and Christmas celebrations. A popular fool figure who developed in the following centuries was the Salzburg Hanswurst, who later conquered Vienna and from there the entire German-speaking theater space. The construction of a theater in Salzburg dates back to the initiative of Archbishop Hieronymus Graf Colloredo. He was opened on 16 November 1775 with the five-part Essex tragedy "The Favor of the Prince". The brand image shows a section of a three-part painted fan with the representation of a Hanswurstfamilie. The parents are busy with spinning wheel and yarn reel, a small buffoon runs around with a wind turbine. Father and son wear the same stage costumes of the Salzburger Hanswurst, modeled on the Lungau peasant robes, as Joseph Stranitzky introduced to the Viennese theater at the beginning of the 18th century. The fan was probably produced in Vienna in the second quarter of the 18th century.
