Nico Dostal, born November 27, 1895 in Korneuburg in Lower Austria, is considered the last of the great Austrian composers of operetta. It may, however, to his innumerable symphonic musical works, masses and his popular songs, which are also in the sound film, such as. in "The Geierwally" use, not to be forgotten. The composer spent his apprenticeship in Klosterneuburg with Prof. Goller, as Kapellmeister in Innsbruck, St. Pölten, Chernivtsi and Salzburg. Next stop in his eventful life was Berlin, where he made his breakthrough with the operetta "Clivia" (1993). The creator of a total of 18 operettas died in his home in Salzburg on October 27, 1981.
