The brand motif shows the painting "The Great Blue Madonna". The painter of this remarkable painting, Anton Faistauer, was born on February 14, 1887 in St. Martin near Lofer in the province of Salzburg, the son of peasants. Originally intended for a spiritual career, the painterly talent of Faistauer soon became very popular, and he switched the Gymnasium in Bolzano with the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In Vienna, Egon Schiele, Anton Kolig and Franz Wiegele were his classmates. In 1909 he left the academy in protest of the dusty tradition and founded the so-called "Neukunstgruppe". On a trip to Italy Faistauer discovered the color wonders of Titian, Tintoretto and El Greco and soon turned to the French masters, especially Cezanne. Exhibitions in Vienna, Budapest, Munich and Cologne made the young painter known. The outbreak of the First World War interrupted the successful path of the artist. In the distress of the postwar period 1922 originated as the first large order the ceiling frescoes in the parish church Morzg with Salzburg. The painting of the porch of the Salzburg Festspielhaus, built by Clemens Holzmeister, was his biggest assignment. In a few weeks Faistauer finished there groupings of 200 figures. On February 13, 1930 Anton Faistauer died at the age of 43 years.
