On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the appearance of the first Thurn and Taxis postage stamps, the Deutsche Bundespost issues a commemorative stamp on the day of the stamp in 1952. As a template for the motif, an excerpt from a plate was used, which comes from the last princely Thurn and Taxissche Postillion C. Scheiffele, Ulm, and was printed and laid in stone lithographic institution August Wolf, Ulm. Shown is a drawn by a horse two-wheeled cart with a seating for the Postillion. The vehicle was used for the transport of the mail in bags and was known under the name »ordinaire post«.
