The Scouting Movement is a voluntary, non-political educational movement for young people. It is open to all, regardless of race, origin or belief. It has over 38 million members in over 200 countries on every continent. There are around 85,000 scouts in Austria. The children and adolescents are active in more than 300 groups and are united in the umbrella organization "Girl Scouts and Girl Scouts of Austria". The graphics on the block's four stamps indicate the principles of the Scouting movement. Each brand carries the symbol of movement: the lily. In the background of the brand, the wording of Scout Companion was designed as a continuous text. With the Boy Scout Talk, a voluntary self-commitment, the young person joins the movement and learns to assume responsibility early on. It is complemented by social or social commitment under the motto: every day a good deed! BADEN-POWELL - the English general and hero of the Boer War, wrote down his experiences as a scout in South Africa in 1899 in the book "Aids to Scouting". The "Guidance to the Scout Service", which was actually intended for the army, sparked great interest among the young people in England. Baden-Powell developed an experiential concept for young people and organized a first camp on Brownsea Island in 1907. It is considered the birth of the Scouting movement. In 1908 he published his principles under the title "Scouting for Boys". Already in this book, Saint George is named as patron saint of scouts. Scouts are said to act chivalrously, to be friend to others, to support the needy and weak, and to protect the environment. In the last letter before his death in 1941 at the age of almost 84, he gave the Scouting Movement his legacy: "Try to leave the world a little better than you found it." STORAGE FIRE - Playful nature experience is designed to help young people to behave properly in nature lead to the correct handling of nature and promote getting to know ecological contexts. ZELT - community is experienced in the tent camp, from the small group started to international encounters. Community action leads to teamwork, joint rituals strengthen the cohesion. The "Learning by doing" method extends my experience. GUITAR - an essential element of the community is singing and making music, and cultural and cultural activities reveal the diversity of human expressions and contribute to the reduction of social barriers.
