From December 26 to 28, 1890, a metalworking and metallurgical workers 'day took place on the initiative of Brno, Innsbrucker, Egerer and the Lower Austrian Metalworkers' Association. In the course of the deliberations the summary of the regional organizations of the occupational groups in a supraregional federation was decided. The birth of the metal-mining energy union and its development in the following decades also established the status of qualified metalworkers as the basis of socialism, which found its implementation in the 1920s. Even today, the respective demands of the metal workers are considered as leading demands in the negotiations of the social partners.
