Xth Party Congress of the SED, 1st Edition The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic is the first to issue a multicolored special postage stamp for the Xth Party Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. No Special First Day Cover X. Party Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany From 11 to 16 April 1981, the Xth Party Congress of the SED will take place in Berlin. "The Xth Congress," said General Secretary of the SED Central Committee, Erich Honecker, "whose preparation is already marked by a great initiative of the people, will assess the results of the implementation of the decisions of our Ninth Party Congress, based on the achievements who set tasks that we have to solve in order to further develop the developed socialist society and thus create the basic conditions for the gradual transition to communism. " The first issue of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the GDR on the occasion of the Xth Party Congress of the SED shows the portraits of Karl Marx and Vladimir Ilyich Lenin before a red flag, the symbol of the revolutionary working class. This u. a. On the one hand, the emission symbolizes in this way that the decisive pledge of our successful policy consists in the creative application of the scientific findings of the classics of Marxism-Leninism and the experiences of the international communist and working-class movement, especially the CPSU. Secondly, it should be made clear that our successes as well as our future tasks are, above all, achievements of the revolutionary working-class movement in the realization of the historical mission of the working class. The portraits are based on monuments in the traditional labor centers Karl-Marx-Stadt and Berlin. In these centers z. For example, the Wohnungsbauprogromm, the centerpiece of the social policy program of the SED, which was only able to develop it using the teachings of the classics of Marxism-Leninism, was particularly effective for the working people. Thus, the issue is to show the unbroken continuity of Marx, Engels, and Lenin for today's struggle of the working class and all other working people under the leadership of the Marxist-Leninist party, and how this struggle brings, above all, results to the full extent of the working class and the other working people. Finally, the issue recalls that before the working class and the other working people there are new, higher and more complicated tasks which they must and will solve under the leadership of their party. The X-th Party Congress of the SED will comprehensively analyze the requirements of the eighties and thus determine those tasks whose solution will lead to a noticeable increase in economic performance and thus to the further comprehensive manifestation of social progress.
