Social Democrat Josef Felder was born on August 24, 1900 in Augsburg. As an editor, he was in charge of the Social Democratic "Schwäbische Volkszeitung" newspaper. After the SPD ban on June 22, 1933 Josef Felder emigrated to Austria, but returned in 1934 secretly to his family. In November 1934, he was arrested and taken to the Dachau concentration camp. At the instigation of textile entrepreneur Willy Bogner, he was released in 1936. From 1946 worked fields on the reconstruction of the free press in Germany. From 1955 to 1957 he modernized as editor-in-chief of the SPD party newspaper "Vorwärts" and was from 1957 to 1969 member of the Bundestag. He died on October 28, 2000 in Munich.
