Of the more than 60,000 people from 21 European countries who were deported to the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp, over 20,000 people lost their lives in inhumane working conditions. To commemorate the murdered fighters against fascism, war and imperialism, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic issues a special postage stamp. In order to recall even more strongly the anti-fascist struggle and the victims of this heroic struggle, the decent design of this former site of horror was made a place of commemoration and commitment on the basis of the decision of the party of the working class and the local state organs. The memorial was declared a district youth object. In realizing the association's orders of the Free German Youth, a material value of well over one million has been created in the past more than ten years. Thus Mittelbau-Dora is not only a stone testimony of the past, but a symbol of the other, where under the leadership of the Party of the Working Class youth preserves the legacy of the anti-fascist resistance fighters and leads an active struggle against all manifestations of fascism and neo-fascism.
