Historic Post Office The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the German Democratic Republic publishes four multicolored special postage stamps with illustrations of historical post offices individually and in combination. Special cancellation from 3 February to 2 April 1987 Historic Post Office 20 Pfennig value: Post Office Perleberg 1 The post office Perleberg 1 was built in the years 1895 to 1897 and designed with a clinker facade. The post office is followed by the telecommunications terminal. Both buildings form a corner building on the street Am Hohen Ende / Karl-Marx-Straße. The Poststraße connects the market place with the post office. In 1982, the post office was rebuilt for the modern post office. The facades remained unchanged. On the ground floor, newspaper distribution rooms, switchgear and ticket hall, packing chamber and handling were redesigned. In 1986 the conversion of the telecommunications office for the use of office computers takes place. The building is a monument of urban planning and architecture.
