Born in Wiener Neustadt 510 years ago, Emperor Maximilian I is still one of the most popular rulers in Austrian history today. He was the first to know how to create an image in the modern sense of the word and use advertising and propaganda in political life. Maximilian took over from his father Friedrich III. nothing more than the inner Austrian lands. Through smart marriage and power politics he ruled not only over Austria at the end of his life, but also over Spain, Burgundy and Hungary. At the height of his power, he was proclaimed Emperor in 1500 in Trent. As a promoter of science, he was on the side of reform, because he knew that in all areas a new era had begun. Nevertheless, he also made a name for himself as the keeper of ancient values. For example, he commissioned the Ambraser Heldenbuch, which is considered to be a unique source of Germanic heroic legend. In addition to the expansion of the empire, military reform with artillery and mercenaries, the intellectual awakening in humanism through the reform of the university, and the attraction of scholars to political and artistic decisions were all of great merit. The brand image shows a Gothic armor, which was personally made for Emperor Maximilian I.
