Design is not a luxury. Design is an integral part of any product and contributes significantly to its success by motivating people to buy and making it enjoyable to use a product. It crucially influences the success of innovations that come onto the market. Design is not just about novelty and appearance. It's about creating new product values and how things are used, produced and communicated to society. Design is also an essential element of the chair LENTIA Less a chair that indulges in the eccentric lifestyle, rather a piece of furniture dedicated to the lightness of being. LENTIA stands on solid wood legs, sitting and leaning surface of layer-glued wood are light in shape and weight. LENTIA combines and embraces traditions of classic chair construction and contemporary design - for which the stackable LENTIA was selected for the 2013 State Design Prize. The design comes from the Linz design studio MARCH GUT, consisting of Christoph March and Marek Gut, which deals with product and furniture design. The chair was realized by the Mühlviertler carpentry company Pühringer, which has been intensively involved with the material wood since 1981 and relies on cooperation with well-known or even up-and-coming designers. designaustria is a knowledge center and advocacy for design professionals in Austria. The organization was founded in 1927 and aims to strengthen the sense of design and to illustrate the benefits of design in society and the economy.
