The International Criminal Law Society held its 14th World Congress in Vienna, in the conference center, from October 1 to 7, 1989. As the most comprehensive of the four major world organizations to fight crime, it has consultative status with the United Nations in accordance with its status. In 1989 it counted well over 3000 members from seventy nations. Founded on 28 March 1924 in Paris, AIDP has set itself the task and goal of ensuring the scientific care and training of criminal law, its presence and reality in an ever-changing world. In particular, the Vienna Conference in 1989 dealt with four topics: legal and practical problems of distinguishing between judicial and administrative criminal law, criminal law and modern biomedical techniques (embryo and gene transfer), links between judicial organization and criminal proceedings, international crimes and state criminal law. The brand motif depicts the Vienna Palace of Justice, which since its construction in the years 1875 - 1881 has been a symbol of the enforcement of modern and humane principles in Austrian criminal proceedings.
