At the beginning of this series of celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of the Künstlerhaus in 1948, the brand's motif provides a glimpse of the central section of the Künstlerhaus. Covered up to half the height with rustical blocks, the building, designed by architect August Weber, is a real child of the Vienna "Ringstrasse Renaissance". Construction began on 20 August 1865 and on 1 September 1868, the new Künstlerhaus was opened by the Kaiser with a large art exhibition. Soon after its completion, the construction proved too small and was extended by the architects Andreas Streit and Friedrich Schachner by two low extensions, which was preceded by a small garden. In 1888, under the direction of the architect Julius Deininger, a redesign of the interiors took place.
