When the fountains of the Viennese high-beam fountain shot up on October 24, 1873, this was the starting signal for the solemn commissioning of the First Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline, the sources of which lie in the Rax, Schneeberg and Schneealpen area. The construction of this aqueduct represents a pioneering achievement of that time. After the city expansion in the years 1890 and 1891, this line could no longer ensure the supply of Vienna. After ten years of construction work, the Second Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline was handed over to the population on December 2, 1910. It is a gravity line, in which the water flows in free fall to Vienna. The main line is 170 km long, with its various supply lines in the source area it comes to a total length of about 200 km. The height difference of their two endpoints is 361m. The brand motif shows the aqueduct of the II. Vienna High Spring Pipeline over the Hundsaubach in Steinbachtal near Göstling in Lower Austria.
