Franz Theodor Czokor is considered the most important exponent of expressionist drama in Austria. Born in Vienna on 6 September 1885, the writer, dramaturge and director became president of the Austrian PEN club in 1947. After his death on January 5, 1969, he was buried in a grave of honor at the Vienna Central Cemetery. Among his most important literary creations include the dramas "Third November 1918" (1936) and "God's General" (1939), the poetry book "The Black Ship" (1944) and the autobiography "On foreign roads" (1955).
