On the 29th of November 1985 the 125th birthday of Ing. Hanns Hörbiger took place. Hanns Hörbiger's ancestors come from the ancient mountain farm "Die Hörbig" in the Wildschönau in Tyrol. The grandfather founded his reputation as an organ builder in Atzgersdorf in Vienna, where Hanns Hörbiger was born on November 29, 1860. With his invention of the low-mass, frictionless steel plate valve for blowers, pumps and compressors, he laid the foundation for a future-oriented development of the compressor industry in the whole world. In Austria, the patent for this invention was granted in 1897. The machine element known today as the "Hörbiger valve" has been further developed to ever greater perfection, leading to further patents, the evaluation of which has been released worldwide in the form of licenses. Around 1900 Hanns Hörbiger joined together with Ing. F.W.Rogler to form an independent working group "Hörbinger & Rogler, Konstrukteure", based in Budapest. In 1903, this office moved to Vienna and specialized more and more in the further development of the invention of Hans Hörbiger, above all by constructing valves for compressors, pumps and blowers. Hanns Hörbiger died on October 11, 1931 in Mauer near Vienna. Hanns Hörbiger's two younger sons, Paul and Attila, have made a name for themselves through their artistic work as actors.
