Käthe Leichter was born Marianne Katharina Pick on August 20, 1895 in Vienna. Their scientific or professional activity is inseparable from their social commitment. As a social democrat, she was particularly active in the areas of women's policy, family and related labor law. In the course of the seizure of power by the National Socialists in Austria, Käthe Leichter was also a victim of the persecution that started at that time. On May 30, 1938, she was arrested by the Gestapo and in 1940 transferred to the concentration camp Ravensbrück. There she died in February 1942.
